Christian Bale Says He’s Done With Total Body Transformations

According to a report from E! Online.com, Christian Bale might be saying goodbye forever to weight-transformations, which he has done on a number of occasions over the years, including in Batman Begins as well as in The Machinist.

Reportedly, the 45-year-old actor put on about 40 pounds for American Hustle and also gained a lot of weight to portray the US Vice President, Dick Cheney, in the 2018 movie, Vice. American Hustle earned Christian serious nominations from the Academy, as did Vice.

Additionally, the actor lost 70 pounds for his latest movie, Ford V. Ferrari, in which he stars as the slim racecar driver, Ken Miles. As it was noted above, Christian also lost 60 pounds for the 2004 movie, The Machinist, as he did as well for The Dark Knights trilogy as well as The Fighter.

His performance in The Fighter earned him his first Oscar nomination in 2011. In a CBS Sunday Morning interview, Bale said that he keeps “saying he’s done with it,” however, he continues to do it repeatedly for the sake of his roles.

Bale stated, however, that this time, he really is serious about not changing his weight anymore. During the LA premiere of Ford Versus Ferrari, the actor said to Erin Lim, that he has recently become more boring now because he’s older and if he continues on that path, he’s “gonna die.”

The actor joked that he’d prefer to not die. Additionally, the movie stars Matt Damon, who’s set to portray Carroll Shelby, who was given the job by the Ford Motor Company to beat the cars created by Ferrari in the Le Mans race in 1966.

During an interview on CBS Sunday Morning, Damon said he had a great time watching Christian Bale, whom he described as having an “incredible monk-like discipline.” Moreover, Bale stated to reporters from British GQ that he doesn’t want to do dangerous stunts anymore either.

He once suffered a herniated disc, which, to this day, still hurts him on a regular basis. He injured his back during a scene fighting with Tom Hardy in The Dark Knight Rises.
